Welcome to AGA Northern Virginia Chapter

Welcome to AGA’s Northern Virginia Chapter! If you work in or around government financial management, you already know the work is demanding. Budgets, audits, systems, compliance, and the constant expectation to do more with less. What can be harder to find is a community of people who understand that work from the inside and are invested in helping you navigate it. That is what this chapter is for. Our members span federal agencies, state and local government, private industry, and the firms that support them. Some are early in their careers and working toward their CGFM. Others have spent decades in public service. What we share is a belief that government accountability matters, and that the people responsible for it deserve a professional home that helps them grow. Over the coming year, our focus is on three things: practical professional development that reflects what you are actually facing at work, opportunities to connect with peers across the region, and clear pathways to certification and leadership for members at every stage. We want your membership to leave you more capable and more connected than it found you. Come to an event, join a committee, or simply reach out to get engaged. The best part of this chapter has always been its people, and there is a place here for you.
